Ohemaa Foundations donates food to 200 children on the streets of Accra

Last Saturday, 31 August, my team at Stichting Ohemaa Foundation organized street feeding for children on the Spanner-Madina stretch.
Choosing this date responds to our research finding of how street children live in extreme need around these times, unlike Christmas or other festive seasons where they usually live in abundance. It also aligns with our mission to send help where it's needed.
Though our initial plan was to feed 100, we ended up feeding 200 street children at 5 locations, doubling our impact. This project wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors and donors, for whose reference we took pictures with the concerns of the individuals involved.
I am also grateful to our volunteers at home and abroad who continue to help us propel these projects. Special thanks to Zenobia Kusi-Afrakoma, Seth Asante, Cledoris Oppong Afriyie, Angelina Nyameye Osei and Daniel Taylor, PMP®️, who joined me on the field. It's rewarding to see the smiles of these young ones, and I hope it's something we can do more often. I encourage other organizations to factor hard times like this into their compassionate plans.
I hope that one day, there won't be a lot of children on the street, and many of these will be important people and impactful figures in society. It may take long, but we will get there.
